Outside of the Lone Ranger set, Disney Infinity has not introduced many unexpected figures to their virtual toy box. With that, outside of the inevitable Star Wars figures, fans are hoping to see more somewhat obscure favorites join the rest of the cast. I am one of those fans and these are the characters and franchises I am hoping make their debut either with 3.0 or sometime soon after.
- Sora & Company – Kingdom Hearts
With Disney owning the rights to the characters that originated within the Kingdom Hearts franchise, Sora, Riku, Kairi, and the others would make for perfect additions to a somewhat action deprived roster. There are so many different forms, weapons, and magic combinations they use within the franchise to choose from that their skill trees would vary drastically while remaining unique and exciting. Plus, with some of the Disney Originals having guest starred already in the Kingdom Hearts series, they would be welcome company!
- Winnie the Pooh
Admittedly this choice is more of a personal want than anything I can actually justify. Half of it has to do with Pooh being one of my all-time favorite characters, while the other half is because of everything having him would add to the toy box. It would be a nice change of pace and would allow for the creation of less action-oriented content and more soothing gameplay.
- Classic Villains
How disrespectfully have some of the greatest villains to ever grace the screen been treated? The love needs to spread beyond the heroes and main characters of the most popular franchises. Captain Hook, Zurg, Ursula, Hades, and Jafar make more sense than a lot of who we already have access to.
- Female Friendly Marvel Characters
We were given two female Marvel characters when the heroes were released last year. Two of twenty one. An unacceptable ratio. Especially with so many brilliant women to choose from. Captain Marvel, Wasp, and Sif, for example – all of whom already have in-game models. It is a shame that the likelihood of seeing any X-Men is practically zero since a lot of the most popular women belong to that team, but there are still plenty to choose from. Hell, even Peggy Carter would be a fantastic buy.
- Treasure Planet and Atlantis
Another personal preference, Hawkins, Amelia, Milo, and Kida have so much unique potential. The scenery they could bring with them makes the choice even more appealing. And as far as I am concerned, these two franchises have been criminally under-represented in absolutely every medium. It is high time Disney brings them out of the vault and throws them back into the spotlight.
