In this Battlefield 4 Preview we will be focusing on the game engine and the multiplayer, but there will be some words of the singleplayer too. These topics are the most exciting one for a Battlefield player. There was a vote about singleplayer or multiplayer is the more important for a Battlelog player, there was no question, because most of the players voted on the multiplayer part of the game.
This vote maybe helped the developer team, but just a bit, because creating an expressive multiplayer gameplay is just as hard as creating a very good full-package game of single- and multiplayer.
Battlefield 4’s engine will be the Frostbite 3. This new engine allows the developers to take the action and the experience to the next level. They are able now to control everything from the natural part of the battlefield to the major gameplay elements, just as Levolution. The wind, the waves, the clouds, all these elements are now one in BF4.
Levolution is a must-have gameplay feature for the best games this year and in the future. Call of Duty calls Dynamic Maps this improvement which allows the player or the server to change instantly the multiplayer gameplay experience. In Battlefield 4 we will be able to see buildings and metros collapsing, ships wrecking to the land, changing weather or windmills coming apart as the time pasts. There will be not just ‘passive’ elements of this new feature. We will be able to blast walls and make buildings collapse like never before or make a tank coming down in the metro. There will be other options too like: switching the lights off in a room, trapping the enemies, car alarms, creating paths or fortifier positions. It will be a real fun to see how Levolution works.
Graphics just got better since Battlefield 3, there will be major adjustments in singleplayer: character faces, emotions, animations, etc. We will be able to see the light of their eyes before we shoot’em down.
Battlefield 4 Multiplayer
So let’s talk about the multiplayer part of the game. The classes from Battlfield 3: Recon, Assault, Support, Engineer will be back and there will be 3 playable factions: Russia, United States and China. The commander mode is one of the major parts of the game. Every squad will have a squad commander and these commanders can support their squad- and teammates by an airstrike, a predator missile, a vehicle drop or a supply drop. This is great, but we have seen something like that way before in Nuclear Dawn, so it is not really a new stuff in gaming.
There is going to be a premium option for all fans of Battlefield 4. By purchasing premium you can get all the DLCs by time and you will be able to get a taste of the new features way before they are relased for the other guys.
Every Class, Every Weapon, Every Unlock
Watch and be amazed in Battlefield 4 not 12x, but 40x scope will be the maximum for sniper rifles!
There are going to be 5 DLCs for this game.
China Rising has high-tech military equipment, all-new vehicles and weapons on nice Chinese maps.
The next DLC is Second Assault, this DLC contains 4 of the most fan-favourite maps with enhanced locations and gameplay features.
Naval Strike will be a sea war expansion with new maps and maybe with new vehicles and weapons.
Dragon’s Teeth takes place in war-torn cities locked down by the Chinese army.
We have no official information about Final Stand right now, so it will be interesting to get known the last DLC for Battlefield 4.
Conclusion and an unanswered question
Battlefield 4 looks solidly amazing, but it is not really a very huge step forward from Battlefield 3. BF4 has more details, more multiplayer features and we are going to see that those will be able to win in these future games who can really adapt to the always-changing world.
Is Battlefield 4 (‘Normal Edition’) going to have all the weapons and vehicles that was available for Battlefield 3 Premium Edition? Maybe not, maybe yes. But if yes what are they going to put in those DLCs, maybe more weapons and vehicles?
